Fall farm stand hours take effect this week: Tuesday-Sunday 10-5, closed Mondays.

This post doubles as an announcement that we just brought two massive bins of seedless watermelon to the farm stand, and they are perfection 🍉🍉🍉

We’ve got news!!! We just closed on an amazing farm property nearby! We’ll be doing much of our growing there in 2027, and opening a second farm store there as well next year— just a couple minutes outside the town of Bristol. (Our Monkton farm store will remain open as always).

The truth is we’ve been struggling with our heavy clay soils in recent years, and the drainage and disease problems that have followed. The future of our growing for the long term was not looking good, which is not a good feeling ten years in. We did start leasing some nearby land, which was really helpful (and probably saved our business during the flood summers of 23’ and 24’), but it wasn’t a long term solution.

The farm in Bristol has many acres of sandy loam, ideal for our most important and beloved crop, strawberries. We planted them there a couple weeks ago and they’re taking off very nicely!

We’ve got our work cut out for us this fall: preparing land to grow for next year, building out the farm store and putting up high tunnels. It’s going to be a wild ride, but it’s the work we’ve been eagerly anticipating since we started planning this project nearly two years ago…Apparently this handy flow chart I’ve had hanging in my office for the last eight years couldn’t keep us away from all this trouble, oh darn!

Joking aside…this is the shedding of a huge existential weight we’ve carried during the past four years. Without the incredible support of our customers and the work of our awesome crew, none of this would even be close to possible, and we’re excited to take our vision to the next level here!

Though the hustle of our u-pick berry season is over, the farm keeps on ticking. This is peak harvest for so many other crops! Fall strawberries are kicking into gear, and we have tons of sweet corn, peppers, tomatoes, potatoes and so much more. Our stand stays open through October, and we’ll continue to have a smorgasbord of fresh produce until the very end

U Pick blueberries are now closed for the season, and what a fabulous season it was! We were able to freeze lots of blueberries ourselves, and you can find bags of them for sale in the farm stand freezer through the fall 🫐

It been a great year for peaches thus far! We’re now taking orders for whole crates of yellow NY peaches via Paradise Fruit of Panton. $76/25lb, +$6 crate deposit. Pick up at the farm stand Saturday 8/15 or Sunday 8/16. We’ll be ordering one more round for next weekend too— don’t miss out on these juicy beauties! DM or contact us through our website to order

August is magic✨ The farm stand is overflowing with sweet corn, strawberries, tomatoes, peppers, melons and too much else to list! It won’t be long before we’re seeing the first fall crops come in…but let’s not talk about that yet 😉

Feeling the itch to preserve? Green beans, paste tomatoes, red peppers and basil are all available in bulk now. Blueberry flats are also available still, but not for long! DM or email to place orders. Happy to answer any questions about canning or freezing produce too!
